vSend - Secure File Transfer

vSend is a free client application included in the vitalTools download  that provides an easy to use method to send a file or files to other vitalEsafe users.  vSend is superior to e-mail and FTP.

Benefits of vSend

  • Secure file transfer - Information is encrypted via SSL encryption during transfer and using AES-256 bit encryption while stored.
  • Delivery confirmation  - Immediate notification if the message is not delivered.
  • No file size limitations -  Large photographs, graphic files, drawings, etc. can be sent with no problems.
  • Reduced  storage requirement – No duplicate copies are made as in regular e-mail.

How vSend Works

Each vitalEsafe account has an Inbox.  vitalEsafe uses “keys” to securely share or transmit information.   A  key can be given to another vitalEsafe user which allows that user to send a file to the inbox of the person who gave the key. Keys may also be used to share selected vitalEsafe folders with other users.  For more information on how keys work go to the vitalEsafe User Guide

How you can send files using vSend

  • Direct Execution Start vSend  and log in with your vitalEsafe credentials. You will be presented a screen where you specify "From" and "To". Your “From” is filled out automatically and you select your “To” from a list of vitalEsafe users who have given you keys.  After selecting  recipient(s) you attach the file(s) just like you would with regular e-mail and click “Send” to send it to their vitalEsafe inbox.
  • WindowsSendTo Extension  - Select a file or files in any folder, right-click on one of them and select SendTo, then select vitalEsafe Recipient. You will be presented with the same form as Direct Execution, but the "Files to be sent" control will be pre-populated with all the files that you selected.
  • Batch Mode  - vSend can run from a command prompt.  Batch mode is good for operations where files need to be sent unattended, scheduled for sending by some other application, or for automating the sending of many files to many different users (broadcasting).
